If you have been looking for a new foundation lately, you may find all of these terminologies to be a little confusing. Drugstores and department stores can be overwhelming with their endless options of makeup and fancy product names. Adding to the foundation category, we can now find the newly popular BB and CC creams.
What are the differences and what do they actually do you ask?
Short term for Beauty Balm, it is the product for women who only want one step after washing their face.
The BB Cream promises to work as a serum, moisturizer, primer, sunscreen, skin treatment and foundation.
With minimal coverage, it is ideal for someone with clear, healthy looking.
The name stands for Color Correcting, which is pretty self-explanatory.
It will give you a little more coverage than a BB Cream and is best for skin with discoloration, age spots and redness. CC Creams are more concentrated in anti-aging ingredients which will target fine lines and wrinkles. With an incorporated SPF, they are also great for day to day use, especially when spending a lot of time outdoors.
They are still the best option if your skin needs coverage and you are looking for a flawless looking complexion. Some of them have skin-care ingredients but not enough to skip your usual moisturizing routine.
Tips from the pro :
– If you have dry skin, you may need to moisturize under your BB cream
– BB Cream and CC Cream are designed to use with your finger tips, however a foundation always looks better when applied with a brush
– Even if you are a fan of BB and CC creams, I would always recommend using a foundation when going out in the evening or attending a special event, since the results give a more polished look.
– Whichever you choose, make sure to get the right shade for your skin tone.
