Dark lipstick, Welcome to the Dark Side.

Makeup lines made it their new collection “hit” item. Celebrities have been spotted wearing it. Dark lipstick is a gorgeous trend this fall!

From Lorde, who made it her signature look to Kim Kardashian who ditched her famous nude lips, it is your turn to dare to try it and here is how to do it.

First thing, remember the rule of thumb : you can only wear one intensity at a time. When wearing bold lips, you need to stick to a natural eye. Think light coloured shadows, liner and mascara.
On your cheeks, a touch of pink will balance out the intensity, think sheer pink and creamy formulas for a maximum dewiness.

When it comes to lip contour it is crucial to do a neat application. I definitely recommend starting with a lip liner and then filling in the lips with a lip brush.
No need to apply a gloss on top, matte shades are more fashion-forward.

Lastly, apply your concealer right on the outside of the lips to make them pop and avoid bleeding.

If you don’t feel confident to pull out the Burgundy shades right away, start with a dark lip gloss or sheer plum lipstick. They are easier to get used to.
And keep in mind, like any statement, you need to own it, wear it with confidence and it will look to die for!
