The Secret To Youthful Skin

By Anne Zimmermann

Wearing sunscreen has been a well know beauty tip for years.

Studies have shown that wearing a sun protection of SPF 15 or higher every day can dramatically keep your face looking younger.
When you are blocking the UVA and UVB you are also blocking premature wrinkles, dark spots and preventing uneven skin tone.

“Truck driver Bill McElligott, 69, has unilateral dermatoheliosis, according to The New England Journal of Medicine. Essentially, ultraviolet A (UVA) rays transmitted through the window of his delivery truck have severely damaged the skin on the left side of his face during the 28 years he has spent driving on the job.” —  Huffington Post

The key is to not only think about it on a beach day, but to make it a part of your everyday beauty regime, rain or shine!
To make it easier – and unforgettable – a lot of face creams and makeup come included with SPF15 to 20. These products are great for days of low exposure, so keep that in mind next time you are replenishing your cosmetics.

If you are spending a lot of time outside, look for a separate sunscreen of SPF 30 to 60. The general rule is the fairer the skin, the higher the SPF.

Now that the hot temperatures are here and the suns UV rays are at their peak, make it a habit and do not go out without your sun protection!

A few of my favorites:
– Neutrogena “Ultra Sheer Sunscreen”
– La Roche Posay “Anthelios 60”
– Sisley “All Day All Year”
