This October: Add a Witchy Flair

It seems that lately with Lifetime’s new show Witches of East End and American Horror Story: Coven starting this October, this is truly the month to have a little fun with sorcery.

Of course, for us, we immediately think of how we can incorporate this sort of eccentric yet very confident and always sexy attitude into our daily wardrobe.

The key to achieving this mysterious and daring look while remaining very appropriate for work or even a trip to the mall, is keeping things subtle, incorporating black (and other dark colours) and adding a signature piece of jewelry that will add intrigue and a little (witchy) drama to your overall ensemble.

First off, if you’re not really into the whole black idea, it’s best to opt for a darker colour like navy, brown or dark green to help you ease into this look. We love this Floral-Print Chiffon Blouse from Old Navy because it works in the florals (which immediately reminds of being at one with nature like a gifted witch!), and while it incorporates a fun fall trend with its sheer fabric, it’s still totally office appropriate and completely wearable.

Next up, you can truly never go wrong if you’re feeling a little bewitched by showing off some skin (just a little though as we are ladies here). We love this Wrap Cami from Dynamite because the black and white is timeless yet the faux leather straps add the perfect amount of punch to really kick things up a notch. To adapt this shirt for cooler weather, simply add a chunky cardigan like this knitted one from H&M.

Witches are all about the layers as it helps to disguise them a little from the rest of the world.

There’s nothing quite like a tantalizing piece of jewelry to really draw a person in. We think this long Earrings from Von Besser Jewellery are the perfect amount of feminine and dangerous as its dark chocolate stones are absolutely enticing, not to mention mysterious and intriguing (and if you watched the premiere of Witches of East End, you’ll know that witches are all about the perfect accessory).

And last but certainly not least, if you’re looking to really turn heads and complete your homage to black cats and broom sticks in true witchy fashion, then you’re going to need a pair of killer heels (Have you caught this AHS promo? We’re obsessed!). We are liking these Bottoni leather pumps as they have a sleek zipper and are super high, yet they’re still very fall appropriate and resemble a stylish bootie.

So, hopefully now that we have you feeling a little on edge and bewitched, it’s time to have some fun with your October wardrobe!

We're looking for writers who have something to say from all walks of life. Sometimes in life you just have to choose who you want to be around, etc... so, with that being said, please don't be afraid to send us your articles and we realize that we may or may not be ridiculed for "publishing" your article. However, know this: the only people that will mind if your writing is not up to "standards" are judgmental people who need to complain about something...anything. No one else will mind if your "article" isn't perfect. We sincerely don't want the types of people who criticize everything and everyone here anyways and we hope you don't either. Have a great day everyone!
