I may be a little biased but I believe Toronto is the best city around, especially when it comes to fun things to do. No matter where you go in the city, you are pretty much guaranteed to find something entertaining happening. We decided to compile a list of our favourite festivals in Toronto throughout the summer, to help make the best of the heat.
July 1st-12th – The Fringe Toronto Theatre Festival: If you are looking for an eclectic and enjoyable theatre experience, look no further than Fringe. From indie performers to established playwrights, the Fringe festival gives everyone the opportunity to showcase their work.
July 2nd-5th – Taste of Toronto Festival: For the food lovers and adventurous eaters, this one is for you. For four days, Fort York turns into a haven of entertainment, eating and drinking, including some of the best chefs and restaurants in the city.
July 10th-26th – Beaches International Jazz Festival: Ten stages, three weeks, and hundreds of performers head to the streets to showcase the best in local music. The music, food and entertainment make for a perfect summer festival.
July 18th – August 2nd – Caribbean Carnival Toronto: For years, people from across the GTA and beyond head to the city to take part in what was formerly known as Carabana. It continues to be a spectacle of costumes, music and dancing and over two weeks of entertainment and activities.
August 27th-30th – Scotiabank Buskerfest: Spread over 4 full days and nights, upwards of 100 talented street performers will take to the city to showcase their talents. Throughout Yonge Street and surrounding areas, the performers and visitors alike will mingle and delight in the spectacle of the festival.
Of course, this is just a tiny sampling of the festivals available in Toronto and surrounding areas. There is always something fun to do for the whole family.
